Custom Boats - Design and Building Process
The goal of CF Boatworks is to build the best sailing and motor yachts in the world. It's that simple. And to us, a world-class yacht is measured in how well design and aesthetics are balanced with practical engineering. Boats that are built by CF Boatworks have a reputation for extraordinary good looks with precise handling and sea keeping abilities.
Our design and engineering team works with you to identify your preferences and intended uses for your boat. Whether it is taking an existing design and fitting it to your specific needs or building from scratch we work with you from start to finish. We use our expertise in marine engineering, naval architecture, hydrodynamics, mechanical engineering, industrial design and electrical engineering to create plans for each stage of construction and installation.
Nature has spent millions of years developing a great fatigue resistant material, wood. Mahogany coupled with high tech building methods creates a superior hull that withstands the structural load it will expect during its life. We use stringer frame construction using multi diagonal and longitudinal layers of mahogany planking and cloth. The veneers are saturated in epoxy and vacuum bagged, eliminating voids and creating a monocoque structure. This method of construction produces a hull and deck that has a higher strength-to-weight ratio. Stress tests performed on this composite construction versus fiberglass or aluminum has proven to be two to three times more resilient.
